Life Isn't Ment To Be Played Like A Game of Frogger
John 17:3
Yesterday, on our way to Victoria, Mom and I spotted a young girl trying to
cross four lanes of traffic on foot. I couldn’t help but
think about how dangerous it was—especially the road she was attempting to
cross.
It immediately made me think of the old game Frogger…
where at any moment, one wrong move and bam..you’re
hit by a car.
And suddenly, a spiritual light bulb went on.
We are all playing a game of Frogger.
Walking around, taking chances…either spiritually dead or spiritually alive.
That’s a hard concept for many people even to grasp.
I hear the term “religious” all the time.
“Sarah, you’re religious, right?”
Hmm… no.
Religion can’t save me.
Only Jesus can.
Lately, God has been pressing on my heart just how many people say they believe
in Him. Even the demons believe…and Scripture tells us that plainly.
What God wants isn’t religion.
He wants relationship.
A real relationship with Him.
To call on Him.
To sit with Him.
To trust that we are held securely in His hands.
Faith.
So many people seek out religion and completely miss Jesus…and that is such
a sad truth. Religion won’t get you through the gates. It won’t.
But an honest relationship with Jesus…knowing that He died for you so that
you could spend eternity with Him…that is not only hope… that is pure love.
So why wouldn’t we want a
relationship with our Father in Heaven after all He’s done for us?
It’s tragic.
And honestly, it makes my heart hurt.
Grow closer to Jesus.
Seek Him out.
Read your Bible.
No…you don’t need fancy prayers.
No…you don’t have to know Scripture line by line.
He knows your heart.
He knows your need.
“What if I don’t read my Bible every day?”
Try to do better.
Tell Him.
Let Him show you His heart…I promise you, He will.
Seek Him with your whole heart, and He will be
found.
Life is too crazy to keep walking around playing a game of Frogger.
Let’s remember: life isn’t a game.
Seek Jesus today.
He’s waiting for you.
You don’t have to change before you come to Him. He’ll help you along the
way. No one is perfect—only Jesus.
Let’s start this new year strong.
Find a place you feel safe going to church. And if you don’t even know where
to start, message me…I’d love to help guide you. Jackson County and Victoria
are full of amazing churches.
I know it’s scary to take the first step.
You can always join me—or I can join you.
Never be afraid to take that first step toward Jesus.
He’s been waiting for you all along.
